Why can't I sketch more of what I'm supposed to?

I think it's some cosmic joke of the muses that artists seem to always get inspiration on exactly what they AREN'T supposed to be working on. Although the muses occasionally get help.

First three here are the result of a conversation with Uno last night. Was a total blast.


Moondancer (hers) and Tae (mine). I haven't drawn Tae in months and months so I'm a tad rusty. Moondancer has a SAD past and Tae just can't help but want to hug the poor girl. MD is bemused I think.



Jynx (hers) and Lana (mine). Jynx is a total bastard and I love him for it. He and Lana would get along like cats and dogs (who'd end up having hot hate sex). I really need to show my love for other of her babies- I think I've drawn Jynx and MD more than any of the others.


Lana. Because when I started sketching the above, she was like 'Oh HELL no. I want art for ME.' Cuz she's cranky like that. Based off an image of Sarah Jessica Parker. She has a similar body type to what I want for Lana- not overly tall but thin. She has too much boobage for Lana though. Girl's a B on her best days. ;p




Serro and Vali. Big surprise. I need to fix Serro's hair but I like the position. One of the things I got from seeing "10,000 BC" was this greeting/good bye that the men did (pictured above). It just seemed like a nice thing for men to do other than the hand clasping.



For the group I'm a part of on Y! There's a contest going on to depict our boys in 'uniform' so they can win a chance to be promoted. Now Serro is already a Captain and Gianni isn't even technically in the mafiya....so there isn't a lot of reason for me to do it. Plus I had no ideas. So I resorted to lowbrow comedy - stick a man in a dress. ;p



Drawn for a girl on Y! Her snarky, amusing half-elf gnawing on his sort-of-lover-but-they-won't-admit-it-god-isn't-it-cute friend. Neither belong to me and I wish I'd done a bit better on the sketch. Ah well. Next time.


90's comic boys- ones that really haven't survived the transition to the new era. Left to right- Adam X (X-treme), Reno Bryce (Warblade) and Shatterstar. Two are Marvel boys and one belongs to Jim Lee. I'm sensing a theme in my crushes here....;p

I do hope to finish it someday.

Hey look, an actual commission! I know. Shocking. For my girl Apis. Still chipping away slowly but surely.



For another girl at Y! who's having a bit of a bad time as of late. My boy Gianni hanging around with her flirt Petya. And drinking. Lots of drinking.



Still not liking this one. I don't know how to make the coloring less boring. I'd hate to have to start over completely but I just might. I do like Cumber's hair...but that's it.

And this last one is for a contest I'm hoping to enter on DA. It's for a steampunk jewelry designer. I <3 her designs a lot and since she uses keys, I wanted to do something with that. Now I only have to do 3 characters but somehow I ended up with 5. *coff*

Anyways, back to trying to get my head on commissions.

Well today was a good day for arts. Actually today and really freaking early morning, which was kinda bad. Anyways. I've been getting to work on my commissions for Apis. I've got her Terina boy almost figured out-



She likes the blue jack but I'm not sure. I want him to look pulled together but not uniform-y. I'll fiddle with it more to figure it out. I'm afraid my steampunk isn't 'punk' enough. And my tail scales suck. >> But ah well, I do like Aiki's face here.



Apis' second commission and the big one. This is partly a portrait of her current D'n'D group and an anniversary present (no pressure right?). I'm hoping I have this going where she wants, the descripts of the chars were....sparse. The one on the far left only had a name (which is why he has the silly face atm). I think I like the bg. It was done in Artrage with the paintbrush tool primarily.



Gift/fanart for Grimmalkin. Her Palindrome boys, Bob and Obscenities. The reason why Bob is doing...that has to do with an answer to a meme. One of Bob's more feline traits: the enjoyment of butt-scritchies.



Something I did at the end of July for Apis. Just a really quick sketch of our boys, Keri and Boo. They're not this old yet (actually it'll be at least a century) but we have fun figuring out what they'll be like. Keri is such a little prima donna. ;P



I've gotten back into playing with an old group of X-Men evo Rper's and I got the urge to sketch Pyro. He doesn't look quite psychotic enough, I think his grin needs to be bigger. But not bad for now.

I've also finished the image of my vamp boys. Boy is that preview tiny. O_o Click it for the actual image. I did one more sketch today but that's totally NSFW so it won't be put up, sorry kids. ;)

Been a while eh? But I do have some sketches despite art block and other things conspiring to prevent me from being creative.



The Unavisi world got some new denizens, the Terina. I adapted some old RP characters and introduced them to this world. The four on the right are my siblings, Turq, Jasper, Xand and Vajra respectively. The fellow in the messy green sketch on the left is their long lost baby brother, Aiki, who I conned my girl Apis into getting into my story/plot with.

She commissioned me to help design him and his steampunk clothes. I was the one who decided to put him in my otherwise complete picture (there is a background, I just turned off that layer).



One of my boys from the mafiya thing. He was being grumpy in my head so I gave him a haircut. It was overdue, I had too many problems trying to draw his slicked back hairstyle. He looks a tad bit too old for his age (24 I think) but otherwise not too bad considering the way I've been unable to be consistently lately.



Birthday gift for my girl Ruthie. Her Star Wars OC's, Shirith and Vance who seriously rock IMHO. Probably the first of her characters I fell in love with.



And the latest, which I did today. E-cookies for anyone who can figure out what embarrassing anime they are from/based from. And no, you can't play Ruthie. ;p
